About Me...
My name is Anne Plettenberg, and I grew up in Moose Jaw Saskatchewan. I have always connected well with children and have wanted to be a teacher since a young age. In grade twelve I applied to the Education program at the University of Regina and was thrilled to be accepted.
I am currently in my fourth year of Elementary Education at the University of Regina. I have just completed my internship in a grade 3/4 classroom. The experience has taught me a lot about classroom management, planning, and most importantly how to make learning meaningful for students.
Some things I like doing in my spare time are playing soccer, reading, and playing board games. Something I would like to do in the future is to teach in another country because I enjoy traveling and learning about different cultures. Another thing I am interested in is learning another language. I have been using LiveMocha to learn German.
I find learning most meaningful and enjoyable when it is through mediums such as technology and hands-on experiences opposed to lectures and memorization. This is how I plan to teach my future students whether they are in kindergarten or grade twelve because I believe that is what it takes to create life-long learners like myself.
